Stockholm Adventures nominated to Best Experience in Sweden Award
Stockholm Adventures creates some of the best experiences in Sweden. This according to French, German, British, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Russian and American tour operators who on the 1st of July announced the candidates nominated for the TRIP Global Award 2010.
TRIP Global Award - The "Best Experience in Sweden" Award
TRIP Global Award is an international award instituted in 2008 by RTS (The Swedish Travel and Tourist Industry Federation) in cooperation with Visit Sweden. The aim for the award is to establish what foreign visitors want to experience in Sweden and to highlight those who offer Sweden’s best experience. This is the third year the price is awarded. Last years winner was the Vasa Museum in Stockholm.
Stockholm Adventures, one of the seven nominees
Stockholm Adventures is one of the seven nominees for this years award. The other nominees are Kungsleden, 
Astrid Lindgrens Värld, Göta Kanal Rederi, Skansen, Åre/Skistar and Säfsen Resort.
– There is a lot nature, culture and wilderness this year which shows that Sweden is appreciated for its environment, said Anneli Sundström at RTS (The Swedish Travel and Tourist Industry Federation).
Jury of international travel companies
The nominated have been selected by international jury of French, German, Spanish, British, Dutch, Italian, Russian and US travel companies, in total about 30 companies, appointed by Visit Sweden.
The winner, as to which one will receive the TRIP Global Award and be named “Best Experience in Sweden", will be presented at the Swedish Travel and Tourism Gala on October 28.

Stockholm - European Green Capital 2010
During 2010 Stockholm is the first city to be European Green Capital awarded by the European Commission. Stockholm is a forerunner in environemental issues, like that the City has cut carbon dioxide emissions by 25 per cent per inhabitant since 1990. But it is also true that Stockholm has more green areas close to the city centre than most capital cities. You can easily reach big forests by the metro and comuter trains. To this you have to add all the water that surrounds the city. On our multi-activities tours you can try out different aspects of this Green Capital.

Skating event 14 February
Sunday 14 February the big skating event Vikingarännet vill run on the ice of lake Mälaren between the cities of Stockholm and Uppsala. Lake Mälaren is where most people in Stockholm get their drinking water from. It is the old viking route, between Uppsala and Stockholm. The distance is 80 km, but there is also a shorter course of 50 km.

St Lucia and Swedish nature
To experience Swedish nature and to participate in the festivities around Saint Lucia was the aim of the visit from 15 Italians last weekend. For the first time they went canoeing on one of the numerous lakes and streams that you find in the "Lake District" south of Stockholm. A private lunch on one of the manors in the area was followed by a safari with sightings of some 50 fallow-deer an roe deer.

More wildlife all the time!
"On our tour last night we saw 6 moose, a couple of them very close to the bus. I guess we also saw almost 60 wild boar and many roe deer as well. It´s getting better all the time, but you can of course never be sure. These are wild animals."
